Fascism Can't be Voted Out

It’s “Soooo important”!

2018 has been a crazy year. Both for news headlines and in our lives. The capitalist media is priming us all for elections again. As usual, this is “the most important election”. But wait what about 2016? 2012 was a hell of a year. What a world we live in, every election is the most important. Even some of the corporate press has recognized the absurdity of this claim

In 2008 Obama won the presidential election. The “historic” democrat passed a health bill which though expanded coverage for many people (questionable quality) , also created a vast new market for the trillion dollar drug and insurance companies to speculate on as they forced people into buying this often lackluster “healthcare”. The new market made the for-profit healthcare scheme billions of dollars. On the other end, many of us were penalized for not being able to afford these plans. At the end of the day it was a win for the insurance companies – a win for the capitalists.

Obama also built the deportation machine Trump’s now using. In fact, he was referred to as “Deporter in chief” among migrant circles. He also bailed out those responsible for the economic crisis, as Bush before him. Plus, he expanded brutal imperialist wars and murders from robotic planes dropping bombs all over the world.

The Capitalists United

So, we have had both Republican and Democrat presidents in rotation in all positions of the capitalist state and have seen them actually unite on the most important issues – with devastating consequences for us. The worth of our wages has dropped and stagnated. Our rents are rising, the costs of living are outta control, etc. If any of these political tools “represented” us, we would not keep getting screwed over and over again. They’re so caught up into accumulating capital and getting richer at all costs, they don’t even give a shit about the world we all live in.

Every single move they make is FUNDAMENTALLY AGAINST our interests because the politicians ALL represent the capitalists. Capitalists are the embodiment of capital and CAPITAL IS THE FUNDAMENTAL ENEMY of LABOR. We can elect as many Democrats or their front organizations (like the “Democratic Socialists”) as possible and NEVER see them operate in our interests unless it’s insignificant, a way to manipulate us to support them, or they see an actual threat in front of them as they try to suppress/co-opt it. How can we expect them to act for us?

They just passed an enormous military bill for brutally murderous imperialist war while over 40 MILLION people in this country live in poverty by their standards. It really doesn’t matter which capitalist fraction or which of their political parties is the majority anywhere (House/Senate). They have historically and always will unite against us. It’s not a question of morals, values or anything so arbitrary. It is a question of the class nature of society. They will always unite for their common interests against us, and we should unite for our collective interests against them!

Times Really are Different

Don’t let the circus of mainstream media and the reality TV personality of Trump fool you, he has been an extremely effective president for the capitalists. Actually, as a fascist (which bourgeois media refuses to call him and his ilk – still labeling them “conservatives”), his historic role is to attempt to fix the economic crisis. Fascism is a political and ideological tendency of capital which due to the intense economic crisis adds an extra level of savagery. Trump is leading this tendency at the moment. He’s tasked with restructuring capitalism to save the economic structure. Fascism is still Capitalism and we must act fast against it. We must at the very least slow it’s progress and give ourselves some breathing room. A Popular Democratic Uprising can accomplish this, giving us a breath as we continue building our forces.

Fascist capitalism is no holds barred, it just DOESN’T GIVE A FUCK. Gut the social safety net, plunder the “national treasures”, privatize everything! Not only has he been pretty successful in this fascist project so far, he has also been restructuring the capitalist power bloc, investing HEAVY in one of the most important areas of bourgeois dictatorship: the courts. At all levels of the courts, trump has placed his fascists army. Federal judges in particular are not mayors or presidents, they serve LIFE TERMS! This means that even if we somehow get “anti-fascist” politicians elected, they will serve their little terms alongside a lifelong fascist dictatorship with a heavy presence in a state appendage that determines both law and who goes to prison. With every excuse in the book, no matter what they say, capitalist politicians serve capitalists. Also, democrats take part in confirming these judges!

The reality is that the whole machine of the capitalist state apparatus itself exists not as some neutral entity fairly serving all in society but as a political, repressive, and organizational tool of capital. Our bourgeois democratic right to vote was a concession after centuries of class struggle. Like all bourgeois-democratic rights (themselves doubling as political and ideological tools of capital), voting allows us to “choose” how to maneuver within a game already set up and rigged. We must defend all these rights but they can never address the structure of how the world is arranged. Also, in times of crisis, we see these basic rights get attacked and stripped.

The “Resistance” vs the working class

As the world is turned to shit by capitalism, the Democrats/DSA and other capitalist formations are parading themselves as “the resistance”. How can millionaires who profit off our labor be the resistance? Let’s be clear folks, they cannot! Anything they offer is a con. The only viable resistance with the capacity to build an actual alternative to both the fascist onslaught and the capitalist world order which birthed it, is the autonomous organization of the working class! Between the CIA Democrats (is the CIA the resistance?) and the fascist Republicans, the only obvious path for working people is our organization.

We cannot keep putting our fate into the hands of a class which has PROVEN itself to be our clear enemy. They exist as a class from the exploitation of labor. Workers produce products, workers add value to the economy. Capitalists take it. The whole of society is based on this exploitative arrangement. These social relations are terrible. They are also non-sustainable. Neither humanity nor the world it occupies can flourish, progress, or even just survive if we allow our enemies to continue to run the ship and fuck us over. You know this to be true. Deep in your gut you see a politician and you know what they are. You try to reason with yourself, you say “this is lesser evil”. Well, now it’s decades after the lesser evil and the state of the world is terrible. Capital has no morals, banks have no morals, they’ll sell your home and everyone in it for a few extra pennies.

There’s millions of us in this country alone. We are the great majority, they are tiny compared to us. The masses make history and always have. The working class, if organized as a class for itself- has the power to completely transform this world. We can end the horrors of HUMAN MADE economies and we can address all of the social ills which prevail. But, we can only do it as an organized COLLECTIVE force, not as random isolated individuals pressing buttons and pulling levers every two to four years hoping the masters don’t burn us all. So, act on your gut, hit us up, let’s build our future together!
